'No Land's Man' to screen at Sydney Film Festival
Internationally acclaimed filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's forthcoming feature film "No Land's Man" has been selected for the Sydney Film Festival.
The news was confirmed by the director himself through social media.
"The film screens on June 16 and 19. Me and Megan will join. See you there, Sydney friends and my Sydney team!" Farooki wrote on his Facebook profile.
The film premiered at the Busan International Film Festival, and was also nominated for the Kim Jiseok Award.
The film stars noted Indian actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, along with celebrated Bangladeshi musician and actor Tahsan Khan and Australian actress Megan Mitchell, among others.
It is produced by the US company Dialectic and Chabial, in association with India's Magic If Films, Bangladesh's Sun Music & Motion Pictures, and Bongo BD. Shrihari Sathe, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Anjan Chowdhury, Nusrat Imrose Tisha, A R Rahman, and Faridur Reza Sagar are co-producers.
"No Land's Man" is predominantly English, with some dialogue in Hindi and Urdu.
The film was the recipient of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and Asia Pacific Screen Awards' Script Development fund in 2014. It was part of the Asian Project Market at Busan, and was the Best Project at India's Film Bazaar that year.
It has been shot across New York, India, and Australia.
