'Haldaa' heads for hat-trick
Directed by Tauquir Ahmed, Haldaa has won many hearts in Bangladesh and beyond. The film managed to bag four accolades at the 8th SAARC Film Festival held in Sri Lanka. After all the success and praises, the film is now prepping to compete in three different international film festivals. It is scheduled to participate in the 11th film festival The Goddess on the Throne in Kosovo from August 31 to September 4. From there, Haldaa will head to Russia to partake in the 14th Kazan International Festival of Muslim Cinema from September 4 to September 10. Later on, it will attend at the 21st Religion Today Filmfestival in Italy from October 4 to October 11. “Haldaa is a Bangladeshi story; a tale of the river and the fishermen. When this story is able to transcend borders and connect to the international audience, I feel content,” Tauquir Ahmed told The Daily Star.
