A post-endgame world

Avengers: Endgame marks the final chapter of a decade-long story, but the tale is not over. With a number of sequels and prequels yet to hit theatres, Marvel Studios is far from done with the characters of the Avengers. The events of the last Avengers film have changed a great many things and will shape the films to come for another decade or so. Going forward, Disney’s slate of Marvel films will reflect some massive developments. Here are a few movies to look forward to after the dust settles from Avengers: Endgame.

Spider-Man: Far From Home

The sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming comes out in July 2019 and it takes place in the wake of Avengers: Endgame. The film, set in Venice, Berlin and London, will see Peter Parker dealing  the consequences of the events of the last Avengers film and meet the supervillain, Mysterio. The latest trailer of the movie broke a record, garnering 135.2 billion views in 24 hours.

Black Widow

Marvel fans have been asking for a Black Widow film for years and it appears that one is in the works. The film is most likely to be a prequel, showing how Natasha Romanoff was shaped as a Russian spy before her days with S.H.I.E.L.D.  Additionally, we may get to find out what happened in Budapest between Black Widow and Hawkeye.

Black Panther 2

Black Panther became a huge hit and a cultural phenomenon, faring marvelously at the global box office and winning three Oscars at the 2019 Academy Awards. Bringing back director and co-writer Ryan Coogler along with key members of the cast, the sequel will likely be set in a very different Marvel universe than the first film, thanks to the events of both the original movie and Avengers: Endgame.

Captain Marvel 2

After the tremendous success of Captain Marvel at the global box office, the makers announced a sequel to the movie in the next few months. The character has been heralded as the leader of the next phase of Marvel’s cinematic universe, although it is unclear exactly what that will entail.

Already, Marvel has teased an Eternals film featuring Starfox, the brother of Thanos. Additionally, the Ms. Marvel and Shang-Chi films could be coming soon, bringing some diversity to Marvel’s slate.
