“Light colours givea fairy-like effect” --- Moutushi Biswas

The heat of the scorching sun, the season of fruits and trendy clothes -- summer spells all this and more. Despite the unrelenting heat, everyone welcomes summer because it ushers in a change of fashion. Popular actress Moutushi Biswas spoke about her summer outfits with The Daily Star.

Moutushi has a yen for colourful attire in summer. “Bright clothes during summer make a person appear more glamorous. Rajasthan is considered as one of the hottest places in India. You will find people wearing brightly coloured clothes with beautiful accessories all the time. Materials like cotton, linen and lawn should be worn during this time of the year. I usually go for full or three-quarter sleeve kameez, but there are people who like to wear sleeveless. I personally feel that dark colours or fabrics like georgette and silk should be avoided because during this time we tend to sweat a lot.”

“When I wear a saree, light coloured cotton is the best; in the backdrop of brightness of sun, it usually gives a fairy-like effect. Cotton is the best material for this season; it is comfortable and airy as well.” 

“Some people like casual outfits, floral shirts or T-shirts matched up with maybe harem pants, skirts or slim fit jeans. You get great bargains at New Market and adjacent places.”
