Zahid Hasan has been entertaining viewers through his outstanding performances on television, since the 90s. He starred in multiple renowned tele-fictions and TV serials throughout his illustrious career. Apart from acting, Zahid Hasan is a successful director as well. Prior to television, he garnered much appreciation in the field of theatre too. The talented artiste has demonstrated his finesse in films by winning a National Film Award. His latest film, Shaap Ludo, released yesterday. In a candid interview, he talks to The Daily Star about his recent film and more.

What are your thoughts about ‘Shaap Ludo’, which released yesterday?

I always try to keep a positive state of mind. So, I’m optimistic about our film. I hope the audience will go to the cinemas to show their support for it. A lot of hard work goes behind making a film, and it is all worth it when the audience embraces it.

How did you get involved with ‘Shaap Ludo’?

The director of Shaap Ludo, Golam Sohrab Dodul, is like a brother to me.  He directed many tele-fictions earlier. One day, he approached me and narrated the story. I felt that the plot was intriguing, and that is how I got involved with the film.

Could you elaborate on your character in the film?

I’m sure the audience already figured out who plays which character in Shaap Ludo, based on the trailer, so I would rather not elaborate. Let’s keep the suspense intact and allow them to go watch the film in theatres to find out more. I would just like to add that it is an interesting character that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Will you be going to the cinemas to watch ‘Shaap Ludo’?

Definitely. In fact, I will be watching it today with my loved ones. The director already called and invited me and the others to Blockbuster Cinemas.

Are you working on any other film that the audience might expect soon?

Well, I am in talks with a few individuals, namely Shihab Shaheen. If the role and story seem captivating, I will go ahead with it.

You acted in a film that was released recently in India. Could you enlighten us about it?

I acted in a Bangla film in India for the first time last year, where I played an important character. The film, titled Sitara, was released recently in India. It is based on Abul Bashar’s novel, Bhorer Prosuti. I am expecting that it may release in Bangladesh too.

What are you currently busy with?

Acting is what keeps me busy most of the time. Other than that, I am directing tele-fictions as well. One such tele-fiction will air soon on a private satellite channel, and I am occupied with that at the moment.
