The Shawshank Redemption
The Shawshank Redemption is based on Stephen King's novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, which was published in his 1982 short story collection, “Different Seasons”.
The film was given 151 hours of airtime on US channels in 2013 alone. That calculates out as more than six days' worth of solid Shawshank.
Though Tim Robbins initially refused to immerse himself in the muddy water of the escape tunnel after a chemist tested the water and dubbed it "lethal", he dived in and got it done in the end. When the Warden opens the bible where Andy Dufresne hid his rock pick it opens at the Book of Exodus. The Book of Exodus details the escape of the Jews from Egypt.
