James Cameron
James Cameron invented a new generation stereo imaging camera, which he named The Fusion Camera.
He and his brother Mike earned five patents from the equipment that they designed to film under water for the movie “The Abyss”.
Part-scientist, part-artist Cameron reached the bottom of the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the ocean, in the Deepsea Challenger submersible that he designed. He is the first person to do this in a solo descent, and is only the third person to do so ever.
He is a member of the Mars Society, a not-for-profit advocacy group that hopes to encourage manned missions to the Red Planet.
