Chirkutt has long been one of Bangladesh's most prolific musical acts. The band has had their fair share of international success, and is set to rock London on July 1 in one of Europe's biggest Bengali festivals. Boishakhi Mela is organised by Tower Hamlets Council, and will feature artistes Ashik and Naz & Bolly Flex alongside Chirkutt. “Even though we've done shows in Europe before, that was for an international audience,” says Sharmin Sultana Sumi, the lead vocalist of the band, “This time, it will be for the Bangladeshi audience who live in the UK. They are very passionate about our music, and we are very excited to perform for them.” This is Chirkutt's first show in the UK.
