Nargis Fakhri to shoot a Maharashtrian folk dance for “Banjo”
Nargis Fakhri, who is playing a New York-based DJ in her upcoming film “Banjo,” will be seen in a traditional avatar in one of its songs.
The actor will sport nauvari, a style of sari draping intrinsic to Maharashtrian women. She will be seen performing Maharashtrian folk dance, Lavani in the song. Since this is Nargis' maiden attempt at a traditional dance performance, she had to prepare a lot for it.
It was quite challenging yet interesting, since the dance involves different body movements and striking expressions. I had to learn the steps and nuances correctly,” says the actor.
