AK Ratul laid to rest beside his father

AK Ratul, vocalist of the popular Bangladeshi rock band Owned, passed away yesterday at the age of 34, after suffering a cardiac arrest at the gym around 3:30pm.

Widely respected in the music scene, Ratul was not only a powerful performer, but also a gifted producer, having worked on numerous hit albums and singles for fellow rock artistes. He was the son of the late legendary actor Abul Khayer Jashim Uddin, popularly known as Jashim.

His first namaz-e-janaza was held after Maghrib prayers yesterday at the Park Mosque in Uttara Sector 7. A second janaza took place around 8:30 this morning, after which he was buried beside his father at Banani graveyard.
