Bengal Foundation pays tribute to Subir Nandi at GANER JHORNA TOLAY
A two-day musical event of Bengal Foundation’s regular musical initiative, Ganer Jhorna Tolay, concluded at Chhayanaut yesterday. The first day of the event began with the 56th edition of Praner Khela, a regular musical soiree of Bengal Foundation. The musical soiree was dedicated to the recently deceased musical legend, Subir Nandi. The evening commenced with a minute of silence in remembrance of the supremely versatile singer.
Prominent singer Priyanka Gope performed songs by Subir Nandi and concluded her performance with a Nazrul song. Two emerging artistes, Zarif Ikram and Aishwarya Samaddar performed Nazrul songs as well.
Falguni Nandi, Subir Nandi’s daughter and eminent Nazrul exponent and journalist, Sadya Afreen Mallick, gave opening speeches in memory of Subir Nandi. “His voice was strong yet melodious.
