Jodi Ekdin, starring celebrated singer-turned-actor Tahsan Rahman Khan, released in the prominent movie theatres across the country yesterday, on the International Women's Day. Tahsan has a number of television ventures to his credit. Jodi Ekdin, directed by Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raz, marks the beginning of his film career. In the feature film, Tahsan plays the central character opposite Tollywood actor Srabanti Chatterjee. Bangladeshi actor Taskeen Rahman, who grabbed the attention of the audience with his role in his debut film Dhaka Attack, also plays an important role in this film. Tahsan opens up about stepping into the world of films and more in a recent chat with us.

You recently rallied on a rickshaw for promotional purposes of your debut film, 'Jodi Ekdin'. How did you come up with the idea?

To tell you the truth, I was inspired by the team of Debi. Prior to the release of that film, Jaya Ahsan herself rallied in the same way. Back in the day, many films were promoted in this manner. I think it is a good way to spark the interest of the audience for films.

How did you come about the script of 'Jodi Ekdin'?

I have wanted to work in movies for a while, but I had not come across any script that I particularly liked until director Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raz narrated Jodi Ekdin to me. That's when I decided that it was a beautiful story that I wanted to be a part of.

How was the experience of working with Srabanti Chatterjee in the film?

Srabanti is an immensely talented artiste who is adored by her fans. I am glad that I got to work with her in my first film.

How has the feedback been for the film so far?

The response to our film has been excellent so far and we are immensely happy and humbled. I went to a few cinema theatres to observe the immediate reactions of the audience and it was a great experience.

Do you have any message for your fans?

I am eternally grateful to my fans for their love and support and I would request everyone to come and watch our film.
