Rupert Grint to star in 'Snatch' series from Crackle
Harry Potter” star Rupert Grint will executive produce and star in upcoming Crackle series “Snatch,” an adaptation of the Guy Ritchie movie of the same name.
The hour long scripted drama, consisting of 10 episodes, will debut on Sony's streaming network in 2017. Grint will play the dynamic, frustratingly chaotic and utterly posh Charlie Cavendish, alongside Dougray Scott, and Ed Westwick, who will be a recurring guest star in the role of Sonny Castillo. Nick Renton has signed on to direct the series, which begins production next week in Manchester, England.
The new series will evoke the spirit of the 2000 film, per Crackle, but will follow new characters. Inspired by a real life heist in London, “Snatch” centres on a group of twenty-something, up and coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high-stakes world of organized crime. The boys must quickly learn to navigate the treacherous waters of London's underworld as rogue cops, gypsy fighters, international mobsters and local villains descend.
