Anthony Bourdain’s early years spotlighted in ‘Roadrunner’ documentary trailer
Three years after his death, audiences are set to get a closer look at Anthony Bourdain's life. The first trailer of the documentary, "Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain," shows crucial moments from when he was just starting out, all the way up to his final years. Directed by Morgan Neville, the documentary explores the life of the renowned chef, piecing together footage from around the world, past interviews, and current interviews with his friends, fellow chefs, and closest associates.
However, as much as the documentary will be about Bourdain's exciting adventures in his life and career, the trailer indicates that it will also reveal more about the difficulties and darkness the chef dealt with, which eventually led him to take his own life. "Here's a little preemptive truth-telling," Bourdain's voice says. "There's no happy ending."
Morgan Neville also produced the documentary alongside Cait Rogers. "Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain" will be released on July 16, 2021.
