Chayanika Chowdhury's debut directorial "Bishwoshundori" featured the duo of Siam Ahmed and Pori Moni for the first time. The film was released on December 11, 2020, in 25 theatres across the country.

Running on its fourth week, the film is on display in 10 halls, and has already earned much appreciation from the fans.

The film is produced by Sun Music and Motion Pictures limited and distributed by Jaaz Multimedia.

The story, screenplay and dialogue of "Bishwoshundori" is written by Rumman Rashid Khan. The talented writer is also the Assistant Manager, Creative In-charge at Maasranga Television.

Even though he has written over a hundred screenplays for television, "Bishwoshundori" is his third project for the silver screen.

His first script, "Purnodoirgho Prem Kahini" (2013), was directed by Shafi Uddin Shafi. Its, sequel, "Purnodoirgho Prem Kahini 2" (2015) was also made by the same writer director duo.

In a candid conversation with The Daily Star, Rumman shared his story and journey behind sketching "Bishwoshundori".

He shared that the story of the film is very special to him, and that he had put his best effort and care while weaving the story, and crafting the characters. "I am someone who is always looking to improve," says Rumman. "While writing the script of the film, I had put my full concentration in this project, and spent enough time and felt all the characters around me while sketching the story" he shares.

The film, at its fourth week of release is receiving great response, especially for its screenplay and cinematography. "I am overwhelmed, as the love that it is receiving is beyond my expectations, especially during the time of a global pandemic," says Rumman, who was critical of his own film when watching it for the first time.

 "I always look for loopholes, I am happy to see how carefully the work was done. H owever, I still believe it could have been even better." He appreciates and congratulates the director for proving her excellence in her debut film.

 "The lack of synchronization and poor payments are major barriers for writers," stated Rumman, while discussing problems that scriptwriters face in the industry. "Thus, stories crafted these days either adapt from previously existing ones, or lack any flair altogether," he asserts. According to him, the amount of research that it requires to create a unique script needs time, which today's writers do not get.

"To mitigate this problem, many top directors write and direct their own projects," shares Rumman.

Rumman Rashid Khan shared that he might get into his own directorial venture in the future, but with due preparations.

His upcoming projects for television include a Rubel Hasan directorial, starring Mehazabien Chowdhury and Irfan Sajjad for Valentine's Day. Another tele-fiction will be directed by Sajib Chisty, featuring Zakia Bari Mamo and Anisur Rahman Milon.

Rumman has expressed his interest working with young directors, and also informed that a web project is already lined up with popular director Sanjoy Somadder.
