Film museum inaugurated at Bangladesh Film Archive Bhaban
Celebrating the journey of Bangladeshi cinema, a film museum was unveiled at Bangladesh Film Archive Bhaban recently. It is located at Agargaon, Dhaka.
The museum was inaugurated by Information Secretary Kamrun Nahar. "This initiative creates an opportunity for us to know about the history of our cinema," she said during her speech at the opening ceremony.
Different kinds of cameras, including the Array 2-C, 3-C, 4-C, BL and Chinese cameras, are currently preserved and showcased at the museum.
Various versions of projectors, editing machines, film joiners, synchronisers, posters, photosets, photo albums, film blocks, National Film Award and BACHSAS Award replicas are also on display, alongside film scripts, props, costumes and 70mm films.
Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) has provided many of these exquisite and rare objects to the film museum.
This place will be a resource hub for researchers, producers, directors, actors and the audience.
The film museum is open for all to visit. Strict measures are being taken by the authorities to ensure safety and hygiene at the premises.
