‘Opodarthobiggyan’- Ratul Khan’s endeavour to make physics fun
Ratul Khan gained a lot of popularity by teaching physics in Onnorokom Pathshala and 10 Minute School. An engineer by profession, Ratul’s inherent passion lies in teaching.
Physics is one of the most important subjects in the world of science, and yet our education system introduces physics in a very outdated way. Ratul is popular for presenting physics as a fun subject by using doodles, cartoons and comics to teach his students online.
Opodarthobiggyan is Ratul’s first book in the Ekushey Boi Mela. This book explores the basic topics of physics through cartoons and comics. The target audience for this book is students from eighth grade to twelfth grade, even though anyone with a curious mind will find the book helpful. “This book is not to solve problems related to physics, but to gain a proper understanding of the basic concepts and theories,” expresses the author. The book is available at pavilion 421-25 for BDT 200.
The cover of this book is designed by Md Morsalin, and it is published by Adarsha Publications. Three maestros of physics- Galileo, Newton and Einstein can be seen on the cover with their iconic revelations.
“A certain diversity can be seen in the book fair now. Students are not singularly interested in fiction books anymore -- they are developing an interest towards non-fiction, self-help and skill development books as well. It is a very positive outcome of the Ekushey Boi Mela,” shares Ratul about the readers’ changed perspective.
Currently working as an engineer in Onnorokom Biggyanbaksho’s Research and Development division, Ratul plans to write more on physics in the future.
