Renowned author Samaresh Majumdar in ICU

Eminent author Samaresh Majumdar, famous for works like "Satkahon", "Tero Parbon", "Ujan Ganga" and "Victoriar Bagan" has been admitted to the ICU of a  private hospital in Kolkata, following breathing problems.

According to local news sources, there is a serious infection in his respiratory system, as the author has gone through multiple tests in the hospital.

He has also been tested for Covid-19, for which the result is yet to be announced.

The author fell sick earlier this year, undergoing ventilation at one point.

Born in 1942 in the town of Gairkata, Samaresh Majumdar is famous for his short stories, novels, travelogues and children's fiction. He was the recipient of the Ananda Puroshkar in 1982, and the Sahitto Academy Puroshkar in 1984. His best work is considered to be the "Uttaradhikar", "Kalbela" and "Kalpurush" trilogies.
