Bubly spills the beans on her new film
One of the most popular stars of current cinema, Shabnam Bubly has garnered a large fan-following all over the country. She has been consistently starring in films and all of them have been well received so far. In a conversation with The Daily Star, she discusses her new film, which is set to release during Eid-ul-Adha.
How is the shooting for the new film going?
I am currently working on a film titled Moner Moto Manush Pailam Na, and it has been going really well. Zakir Hossain Raju is an amazing director, and everyone knows that his films are fantastic. Thus, it is a great feeling to work with such a talented film-maker. The story itself, however is the life of the movie, and I think the audience is going to relate to it a lot.
What role will you be playing in this film?
My character’s name is Arpita and she is a very interesting character to play. However I don’t want to give away too much. I want the audience to watch the film in the theatres to find out what it is about.
Can you share any interesting stories related to filming?
A while ago, during shooting for a scene in a hospital with Shakib Khan, I hurt my head quite badly. We were going to Impulse Hospital, and as we were about to enter, I did not notice the glass door, and it hit my head very hard. I was rushed to the hospital and the doctor told me to rest. But I knew everyone would have to fall behind on the schedule, so I managed to push through with the filming, despite my injury. I am a lot better now, thankfully.
Your latest film, Password, is still doing very well. Is it going to release abroad anytime soon?
We are still in talks about that. The producers want to release it abroad for all the fans living outside of Bangladesh. It is supposed to have a theatrical release in the USA, as well as several other countries.
You are starring alongside Shakib Khan in your upcoming film, Moner Moto Manush Pailam Na. What is it like, working with him?
He is not only the biggest star in the country, but he is also very popular in West Bengal. He was my co-star in my very first film, and the audience loved us as a pair on-screen. I am hopeful that they will love us in this film as well.
