“Disturb” at the shooting spot

When we reached Hasnahena shooting spot in Pubail near the capital last week, rain was heavily pouring down on the sets of the single-episode television play “Disturb”. Inside the house, actor-director Zahid Hasan was busy getting the actors to polish their dialogues.

Aside from playing the lead role alongside Mehzabien, Zahid Hasan is also the director of the play, which additionally casts Shamima Naznin and others.

Seasoned cinematographer Anowar Hossain Bulu was seen behind the camera taking shots until a scene was perfect.

In the meantime, Zahid said, “It is difficult to continue shooting while fasting. Delivering dialogues loudly requires hard work.”

Activities, meanwhile, were 'disturbed' by the ongoing Bangladesh-India cricket match. When it was time for Iftar, director Zahid Hasan led the unit to the Iftar table.

After a short break, shooting resumed. The set was being readied and lit up for a wedding shot. Mehzabien, dressed up in wedding attire, entered the set. The next shot began at nine, after Sajal arrived on the spot for a guest appearance.

The scene took nearly 30 minutes, after which shooting packed up for the day.

“The play has an interesting and humorous plot, and it feels
good to be at the finishing point,” said Zahid Hasan.

The play will air on a satellite channel during Eid.
