Finishing off the Central Round
Rupchanda-The Daily Star Supechef came back with a bang for the third season and just within the first two episodes, we saw six aprons already being handed out. These six participants will be going straight to the Superchef Kitchen. Just in the first two episodes, it was already evident that this season brought Rupchanda-The Daily Star Superchef back - bigger, bolder and better.
The judgment is already rigorous as the participants try to impress the judges, culinary expert Shaheda Yeasmin, actor and food enthusiast Tariq Anam Khan and executive chef of Watercress Restaurant Tazammul Huq Tareq, with exciting flavours, technical cooking skills, and simple, yet attractive plating.
In the first episode, participants like Rafia and Mashnoor immediately won the judges' hearts with their delicious dishes. In the second episode, the first participant, Jeenia Jahangir, a Master's degree holder from North South University, entered with her heart on her sleeves. What she had cooked for the judges was the ever-complicated Chicken a la Kiev. As the judges walked up to her plate to examine her dish, they were impressed with her skills and passion. Undoubtedly, she was called up to the stage to take away that fourth apron. Following some more participants, came Asma Huq, who returned to the competition after being eliminated from the Superchef Kitchen last season. Asma came this year with her husband and her brother-in-law. While the experienced of the three, Asma and her husband Nazmul -- who are restaurant owners -- went into waiting only to have to cook one more time to impress the judges, brother-in-law Nazimul won them over with his Chicken Shnitzel. Competition had seeped into this family as well, then and there. Along with Asma and Nazmul, Nargis and Dr Samia, who dreamed of being like our last year's Champion Dr Umme Kulsum, went into waiting for one more round of cooking. While some had hearty smiles and some half-hearted on their faces, luck didn't favour everyone so well. Last year's participant, Mahfuza Akhter's daughter walked the path to the table to present her dish to the judges. Toma, unfortunately, could not follow her mother's footsteps into the prestigious Superchef Kitchen, and was asked to try again after gaining some more experience.
With heartbreaks, tears, and overjoyed cheers, the second episode came to a close on an absolute high as Utpal Sarkar won over all three judges at a go with his brilliant coconut-infused dishes.
This week, in the third and fourth episode of Rupchand-The Daily Star Superchef, prepare for more drama, more anxiety, and most of all some gorgeous food, as the central round comes to a close this week, after which our participants in waiting will compete one last time before we go into the Superchef Kitchen. Six aprons have already been given away, with 12 to go.
Some more very exciting participants, stories, and dishes coming up, only on Rupchanda-The Daily Star Superchef season 3. Keep your eyes on ntv every Saturday and Sunday at 9pm and catch the most prestigious cooking competition
in the country.
