Krishoker Eid Ananda shot in Manikganj
Shooting of one of the most popular entertainment programmes titled “Krishoker Eid Ananda” (KEA) has recently been completed in Manikganj's Joymondop. Directed and hosted by Shykh Seraj, the TV show will go on air during Eid-ul-Azha festival.
This region has been selected for KEA as it's the most fertile region of our country, where the rivers Padma, Jamuna, Dhaleshwari and Ichhamoti flow across,” said Shykh Seraj.
The district also has a huge prospect for agriculture and a legacy for its cultural heritage. Hiralal Sen, considered the first-ever filmmaker in the subcontinent was born in this district. Language Martyr Rafique, renowned filmmaker Khan Ataur Rahman and eminent litterateur Munier Choudhury were also born in Manikganj.
Many popular films were shot in Manikganj, from the 1950s to 1980s, featuring sturdy farmers, farmlands and riverine Bangladesh. To bring all these great happenings, KEA has worked quite in-depth and hence selected Manikganj as the shooting spot. The TV programme will definitely feature, as always, rural sports and untold stories of the region. Special stories filmed abroad will also entertain the audience along with a touching pastoral song performance by noted folk singer Momtaz. Krishoker Eid Ananda will go on air, on the second day of Eid-ul-Azha at 4:30 pm on Channel i.
