Swagata returns as TV host

Popular TV and film actress Swagata will take viewers down the memory lane in a new television programme, titled “Rupali Diner Sonali Golpo”, produced by Nahid Biplob. The programme features highlights, song numbers and many more from the golden age of classical cinema. Shooting has already begun, with a few episodes already completed and will be aired by Banglavision.

Swagata has previously hosted a programme on film on Banglavision titled “Cine Beat Shadakalo”, which was an instant hit with viewers and garnered the actor much popularity.

When asked what sets the two programmes apart, the actor responded, “There are a lot of differences. The last programme saw me only as a host, but in the new one I shall appear in each episode dressed in the costumes of actors, whose films will be discussed, further personifying the essence of what this show hopes to bring.”

Two episodes have been completed and put in the bag. The episodes will feature a discussion on the films “Nayaner Alo” and “Pichdhala Poth” respectively, where she will be seen dressed in the costume of Suborna Mustafa and Bobita in the respective films. 

Regarding her experiences in shooting for the programme, Swagota shared, “It has been so much fun! And it shall be even more enjoyable for the viewers as they will see me singing and acting in addition to being a host.”

The actor is also occupied with new television plays, which is also scheduled to air soon.
