3 teenagers found dead in Savar

Police say no sign of torture on bodies

Three teenagers, including two brothers, were found dead inside a house at Hemayetpur in Savar on the outskirts of the capital yesterday.

Law enforcers and forensic experts termed the deaths “mysterious” and said they were trying to find out the reasons for their deaths.

Mohammad Jibon, 17, his brother Nasir, 16, and their cousin Shahadat, 15, were found dead on the floor of a room at a single-storey building inside Pranto Dairy Farm in Hemayetpur yesterday morning.

They had gone to sleep around 11:00 the previous night after having dinner and did not wake up till 8:00am yesterday, said their family members.

The family members had called out their names and poked their bodies with long sticks through the window. The room was locked from inside.

Soon, they called the police who recovered the bodies. Those were sent to Dhaka Medical College (DMC) morgue for autopsies.

Jibon and Nasir worked at an automobile workshop while Shahadat at a Chinese restaurant in the area, added the family members.

“They slept on the floor. I was in the next room. I didn't hear anything unusual,” Ziaur Rahman, father of the siblings, told The Daily Star. He is the caretaker of the farm.

Kamruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Savar Police Station, said they were no marks of torture on the bodies.

DMC Forensic Medicine Department Assistant Prof Sohel Mahmud, who performed the autopsies, said he had already visited the scene.

He also said the blood and viscera samples had been collected to see whether the victims were poisoned.
