Actress Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed

Actress Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed, who was held on Saturday night for spreading rumour on Facebook, was placed on a four-day remand yesterday in a case filed under the ICT Act.

Metropolitan Magistrate Mazharul Haque of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court passed the order after police produced her before the court with a seven-day remand prayer.

She was held from Uttara for allegedly spreading rumours on social media about the student protests with a motive to create anarchy in the country and to confuse people, police said.
