Headmaster found dead
Headmaster of a primary school was found dead in Dumuri village of Bogra's Adamdighi upazila yesterday.
The victim, Abdur Rashid, 57, was the headmaster of Dumurigram Government Primary School.
Police detained a couple, neighbours of the teacher, for their alleged involvement in the murder.
Rashid left his house around 8:00pm on Thursday, telling his wife that he was going to give food to fish in his pond, said his brother-in-law Rezaul Islam.
He used to do it regularly.
When he did not return home, the family members started searching for him. Villagers found his body a few metres away from the pond yesterday morning.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College morgue for an autopsy.
Police said criminals “stabbed on Rashid's face and also cut his genital”.
Abu Sayed Mohammad Wahiduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Adamdighi Police Station, said they suspected that Rashid had been murdered over his alleged extramarital affairs.
The OC said they would investigate the killing of the teacher.
