46,000 yaba pills found in gas cylinders
Detectives on Friday night arrested two persons on charge of transporting around 46,000 yaba pills hidden inside gas cylinders.
The police also seized a truck and 210 gas cylinders during the drive.
The arrestees were identified as Ismail Hossain, 38, driver of the truck, and Mahmudul Haque, 35, an alleged drug trader from Teknaf in Cox's Bazar.
Shah Mizan Shafiur Rahman, superintendent of police (SP) of Dhaka, yesterday gave the information at a press conference held in Savar Model Police Station.
Acting on a tip off, a team of Detective Branch of Dhaka North Police led by Officer-in-Charge Abul Bashar challenged the truck carrying the cylinders in front of Sahara Refuelling Station, he said.
