Girl raped in Dhamrai

A 17-year-old girl has allegedly been raped by two youths in Dhaka's Dhamrai upazila.

The girl yesterday filed a case with Dhamrai Police Station accusing two youths -- Babu and Rezaul.

According to the case statement, the duo took the girl to an abandoned house in Shoilan area Saturday night and raped her.

The criminals threatened to kill her if she disclosed the matter to anyone, the case statement read.

Dipok Saha, officer-in-charge of Dhamrai Police Station, said they were trying to arrest the accused who went into hiding after the incident.

The girl was sent to One-Stop Crisis Centre at Dhaka Medical College Hospital for medical tests, the OC added.
