6 killed in Gopalganj road crash

Six people, including two women, were killed and 25 others injured in a road crash in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj yesterday morning.

The injured were taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital where three remain in critical condition.

Police and local sources said a truck carrying cement bags collided with a night coach carrying passengers in Barasur area of Dhaka-Khulna Highway.

The deceased were identified as  bus driver Bulet Miah, 30, of Kashiani village of Gopalganj, supervisor Ibrahim, 45 of Boalmari in Faridpur, helper Saifujjaman, 40, of Basbaria village in Faridpur and Selina Akter, 30, of Rangpur. The two others remained unidentified.

After the accident, traffic came to a standstill on the highway for over three hours.
