3rd coronavirus patient tested negative: IEDCR
The third patient, out of the three reported coronavirus cases in Bangladesh, have been diagnosed negative.
Tests were conducted on him yesterday, Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora, director, Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), said at a press conference today.
"We'll conduct another test after 24 hours to confirm if the person has fully recovered," she added.
With this, the number of infected persons has come down to zero in Bangladesh.
IEDCR on March 8 announced detection of three persons infected with coronavirus. One was released from hospital after recovery while another would be kept in hospital for some more time, IEDRC told yesterday.
IEDCR tested 24 persons in the last 24 hours. It has so far tested 221 people for the virus declared as pandemic.
So far, nine people have been isolated while four have been quarantined in hospitals in Bangladesh.
