Chief justice constitutes 12 HC benches for vacation functions

Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain has constituted 12 single-judge High Court benches for hearing and disposing of cases during the ongoing annual vacation.

The annual vacation for both the Appellate and High Court Divisions of the Supreme Court start today with the courts reopening on August 9.

The 12 HC benches will virtually conduct the judicial functions under the Usage of Information Technology in Courts, 2020 without physical presence in order to contain the spread of Covid-19, a notification issued by the Supreme Court administration said yesterday.

The judges who will run the HC benches are: Justice Tariq ul Hakim, Justice Muhammad Abdul Hafiz, Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed, Justice Md Rais Uddin, Justice AKM Abdul Hakim, Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan, Justice Abu Zafor Siddique, Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif, Justice Md Ruhul Quddus, Justice Farid Ahmed, Justice Shahidul Karim and Justice SM Kuddus Zaman, according to the notification.
