Liberation War minister’s wife dies of Covid-19

Layla Arjumand Banu, wife of Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, died of coronavirus this morning at the age of 71.

She breathed her last at Combined Military Hospital, Dhaka, at around 7:45am, according to a press release.

The minister and his wife were admitted at the hospital on June 13 after being diagnosed with coronavirus.

The minister returned home after recovery but his wifecontinued receiving treatment at the hospital as her condition deteriorated.

She is survived by two daughters, one son, six grandchildren and a host of well-wishers to mourn her death.

Her namaz-e-janaza will be held at a field near Gazipur City Corporation graveyard after today's Asr prayer.
