Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute begins Covid-19 testing
Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute in Savar began testing samples for coronavirus infection from today.
The institute under fisheries and livestock ministry will test samples received from Directorate General of Health Services, according to a press release issued by the ministry in this regard.
The institute consisting a sophisticated laboratory is capable of testing 300 samples per day.
It began tests to identify Covid-19 infections by testing 19 samples today acquired from Dhamrai and other areas, the release reads.
The institute has formed a team of 14 scientists and workers to collect samples, send to the laboratory, test, data entry and documentation. It has formed another six-member monitoring team to coordinate, supervise and provide assistance, the release adds.
