Mushfiqur leads from the front

Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh skipper came out to bat during the first innings of the Test against India when the chips were down. The tourists were under pressure after losing four wickets for 109 runs on the board.

Indian pacers Ishant Sharma and especially Umesh Yadav were bowling sharply, and got the ball to swing late. The spinners came into the game as they managed to extract decent turn consistently. With wickets falling at the other end and his team in danger of following on, Tigers skipper rose to the occasion and lifted his team with a fighting century on the fourth day at Hyderabad.

Mushfiqur’s fifth Test ton, and his second against India defined the character of the leader, a leader who leads from the front. The wicketkeeper batsman smashed 16 fours and two huge sixes in his 127 that gave Bangladesh fans at home and abroad something to cheer about after the Shakib-Mushfiqur stand that produced 107 runs yesterday.
