Dhaka University (DU) has secured first position in Bangladesh and 1,634th worldwide according to a ranking published by Webometrics, a Madrid-based on educational and research institutions.

According to Webometrics world rankings, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) ranked 2nd in Bangladesh and 1,702nd in the world.

Shahjalal University of Science and Technology secured a world ranking of 2,181st, Rajshahi University 2,357th, Bangladesh Agricultural University 2,662nd, Brac University 2,664th, Jahangirnagar University 2,721th, North South University 2,773th, Chittagong University 2,803rd, and Independent University ranked 3,101st.

In the ranking, the University of Washington in the US holds first place in the world while Cornell University, John Hopkins University, Yale University, University of California San Diego secured 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th positions respectively.
