Female shooters finish last
The three Bangladeshi female shooters finished in the last three positions of the 50m rifle 3 positions qualification event of the ISSF World Cup in New Delhi yesterday.
The three shooters – Suraiya Akter, Sayeda Hasan and Mahfuja Jannat Jui – finished in 29th, 30th and 31st positions respectively. There were 32 participants in this event, but one of the participants withdrew from the competition.
Suraiya scored 563 points, Sayeda scored 561 points and Mahfuja scored 557 points. Nina Christen of Switzerland qualified in first position with 587 points, but eventually Yiwen Zhang of China grabbed the gold medal.
Bangladesh's Mohammad Ahmed and Anowar Hossain will participate in men's 10m air pistol event while Shovon Chowdhury will compete in men's 50 rifle prone event today.
