Tamim crosses 10,000 international runs
Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal became first Bangladeshi batsman to score 10000 international runs during the first ODI of the 3-match series against Sri Lanka at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium today.
Tamim who has enjoyed a rich vein of form made a match-winning 82 during the second innings to give Bangladesh their first win over Sri Lanka and enabled his team to draw the series 1-1. The left-handed opener is the leading run-getter for Bangladesh in Test cricket, ODIs and T20I matches.
In 49 Tests, Tamim has 3677 runs with 206 being his highest score. He has 1202 runs in 55 T20Is, and before the first ODI against Sri Lanka today, Tamim scored 5120 runs in 162 one-day matches for Bangladesh.
Tamim’s highest knock in ODIs of 154 came against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo in 2009.
