Biman flights operating only 3 routes
Biman Bangladesh Airlines today suspended its flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Singapore, spokespersons of Biman said today.
The decision to suspend flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi came in line with UAE's decision to cancel flights to Dhaka. Airline operations for the two destinations would remain suspended till March 31, Mokabbir Hossain, managing director and CEO of Biman, said in a WhatsApp message to journalists today.
The national flag carrier operated 14 flights on the Dhaka-Abu Dhabi and Dhaka-Dubai routes per week.
Additionally, due to a decision by the Singaporean government, Biman has taken the decision to suspend flights on the Dhaka-Singapore route from March 21, said Tahera Khandaker, deputy general manager of Biman.
The national flag carrier has so far cancelled flights on 14 out of its 17 routes in face of the coronavirus pandemic.
