Biman, Novoair to share passengers on domestic routes during flight disruptions
Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Novoair -- a private air operator -- today signed an agreement for transporting each other's passengers on domestic routes in the event of flight disruptions or delays.
Domestic passengers connecting to international destinations will also be facilitated under the deal, Novoair said in a release.
Under the deal, a passenger from any domestic location, for example Syedpur, who is travelling to an international destination, for example Malaysia, may come to Dhaka on a Novoair flight and then fly for Kuala Lumpur on a Biman flight, Mofizur Rahman, managing director of Novoair, told The Daily Star.
The Special Reprotection Agreement (SRA) was signed at the Balaka Bhaban, head office of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
Mohammad Ali Osman Noor, deputy general manager (Pricing and RMS) of Biman, and Mesbah-ul Islam, head of marketing and sales of Novoair, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Mokabbir Hossain, managing director and CEO of Biman, Mofizur Rahman, MD of Novoair, and senior officials of both airlines were present at the signing ceremony.
"I hope passengers of both carriers will be highly benefitted by this initiative," Mokabbir Hossain said.
"We hope that the passengers will get better service as a result of such mutual cooperation. Novoair and Biman Bangladesh Airlines will work together in future for the development of the country's aviation sector," Mofizur Rahman said.
