Bodies of four people, who went missing following a boat capsize in Brahmaputra river in Ulipur upazila of Kurigram, were recovered today.

The deceased NuruMia, 62, Zabbar Ali, 44, Kamar Zaman, 43, and Amena Begum, 63, were residents of Durgapur union of the upazila, our Lalmonirhat correspondent reports quoting Moazzem Hossain, officer-in-charge of Ulipur Police Station.

OC Moazzem said the boat carrying around 40 to 45 people, who were returning home after attending a marriage ceremony in Shatvita area under the upazila, sank in the river yesterday afternoon.

The four, including the bride's father Nuru Mia, went missing afterwards, while the others managed to swim ashore, the police officer said.

On information, a team of fire service rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies from the river, he added.
