How budget deficit of Tk 214,681 crore will be financed

The overall budget deficit for the fiscal year 2021-22 will be Tk 214,681 crore which is 35.5 percent of total budget.

Of the amount, Tk 76,452 crore would come from the banking system. Tk 37,001 crore would be financed by selling savings certificates and other non-bank sources.

Tk 101,228 crore will be financed from external sources, according to the proposed budget.

In the current fiscal year, the government decided to take loan of Tk 84,980 crore. Till May, it has taken Tk 4,630 crore to finance the budget.
