Tax on land transfer to be reduced

The interim government has proposed a reduction in the tax on land transfers starting from the fiscal year 2025-26, aiming to encourage property registrations at actual sale prices and curb the accumulation of undeclared income.

At present, many land and property transactions are registered at values below market rates to avoid high taxes.
Under the new proposal, the land transfer tax will be cut by one to two percentage points, depending on the property's location.

From fiscal year 2025-26, the maximum tax rate will be 6 percent, while the minimum rate will be set at 1 percent.
