Payment due: Employees sue Citycell’s top officials

Employees of private mobile operator Citycell this morning sued several of the company’s top officials as it failed to pay Tk 1.50 crore salaries and allowances.

Five cases were filed against Citycell’s eight top officials including chairman and chief executive officer, with the Labour Court-1 in Dhaka, Tipu Sultan, head of communications of Citycell, told The Daily Star.

After accepting the cases, the court summoned the eight top officials – Chairman Morshed Khan, his wife Nasreen Khan, Chief Executive Officer Mehbub Chowdhury and five others, on September 4.

In the cases, the plaintiffs mentioned that the mobile operator did not pay Tk 1.50 crore salaries and allowances to them since last September.
