Citizen data leaked due to technical weakness: probe report

Technical weakness of the web applications of the associated organisation has been the main reason behind the leaking of a massive amount of citizen data, according to a probe report.

The findings revealed that there was a lack of proper monitoring of their web applications due to limited manpower with proper technical knowledge, said Zunaid Ahmed Palak, state minister for ICT, today.

It has been noted that no log file was stored in the application system of the concerned office, he said, citing the investigation of the ICT Division.

The probe came after the leakage of five crore citizens' data from the Office of the Registrar General, Birth & Death Registration.
