Bangladesh sought budget support from Japan: Naoki

Japan is actively considering Bangladesh's request for budget support, Japanese ambassador to Bangladesh Ito Naoki said today.

The ambassador revealed the information after holding a meeting with Planning Minister MA Mannan at the latter's office in the capital.

Talking to journalists, the Japanese envoy said they also discussed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's upcoming visit to Japan.

Naoki did not disclose the amount sought by Bangladesh for the budget support.
