Teletalk launches SIM card delivery service
Teletalk Bangladesh has launched a trial version of an online service which will enable customers to order and receive SIM cards directly through the postal network.
The service, rolled out through a commercial pilot on November 27, will initially be available at 11 post offices across Rajshahi, Naogaon, and Chapainawabganj. Nationwide availability through post offices in all districts is planned in subsequent phases.
Nahid Islam, advisor to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and ICT, inaugurated the service at his office in Dhaka.
Mohammad Mushfiqur Rahman, secretary to the posts and telecommunications division, and Nurul Mabud Chowdhury, managing director of Teletalk, were also present at the inauguration.
Through this new service, customers can select their preferred SIM numbers online and choose to either collect them from nearby post offices for Tk 250 or have them delivered to their doorstep for Tk 300, payable via mobile wallets.
Teletalk will also provide automated tracking for delivery status, ensuring transparency and ease of access.
Orders can be placed on the company's official website under the 'Online SIM' menu.
