Inflation rises in May to 5.6%
Inflation rose in the month of May to 5.63 per cent, mainly because of a rise in the prices of commodities of non-food items in the market.
Planning Minister MA Mannan released the data today. It showed that in April, the inflation rate was lower at 5.58 per cent compared to May.
Data shows, inflation in the food sector came down to 5.49 per cent in May, what was 5.54 per cent back in April.
The spike was witnessed in the non-food sector where inflation registered at 5.84 per cent. This rate was 5.64 per cent back in April.
