Mobile operator Robi today launched 4G services across 64 districts in Bangladesh.

The launch was announced from a gala programme held at Bangabandhu International Convention Centre, Dhaka, in attendance of ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar.

Robi calims, they currently have 1,500 towers across Bangladesh that are capable of operating 4G network – for what they have invested Tk 2,100 crore so far.

The mobile operator said they have the capacity to spread 4G network to the remotest of regions in the country if the government reduces tax on mobile handsets.

State Minister for ICT, Junaid Ahmed Palak and Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Shahjahan Mahmood were present at the programme.
