27 teams win Bangladesh chapter of NASA Space Apps Challenge 2022

Twenty-seven teams from nine cities have won the Bangladesh chapter of the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2022 for their best solutions to real-world problems on Earth and in space.

The projects of the winning teams will be sent to NASA for the next round of the global competition.

More than 2,000 contestants from Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Rangpur, Mymensingh and Comilla participated in the competition.

The 36-hour hackathon started on Friday at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) with the top 50 projects in a hybrid model out of the top 110 projects and the remaining 60 projects online.

The local chapter of the event was organised by the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) in collaboration with the BASIS Students Forum.

Globally, in addition to engaging one crore students through social media, the NASA Space Apps Challenge is planning to engage two lakh students directly and through the competition.

Project submissions from all over the world are judged by space agency experts and winners are selected for awards in 10 categories.
