Bata Shoe’s sales rise 51%, makes Tk 27.5 crore profit
Bata Shoe's sales rose 51 per cent year-on-year to Tk 213 crore in the July-September quarter of the 2022-23 fiscal year.
In the January to September period, the leading multinational shoemaker's sales increased 37 per cent year-on-year to Tk 744 crore.
Depending on the high sales, the company made a comeback and booked a profit of Tk 27.50 crore despite incurring a loss of Tk 14.76 crore in the previous quarter, according to the financial report of the company.
The board of directors of the company declared a 260 per cent interim cash dividend based on the nine months financial reports for the period ended on September 30, 2022 and the retained earnings up to December 31 of 2021.
Moreover, the shoemaker incurred lower loss in the July-September period of 2022 when its sales rose based on the promotional activities and festivals.
However, stocks of Bata Shoe, however, dropped 0.02 per cent today from the last trading day to Tk 930 at the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
